Anthony Smyth - Director

Anthony Smyth is an experienced commercial lawyer. He has been a partner and director at Carrick Gill Smyth since 2003. He has acted for corporate and private clients in a wide range of commercial and commercial litigation matters.
Anthony has wide experience in advising clients in the following areas:
- Advising a wide range of businesses on their business transactions and legal matters including sales and purchases, partnership and joint venture agreements, employment law, structuring and risk management; property and commercial leasing matters;
- Undertaking commercial litigation, particularly matters involving contractual disputes, claims of misleading or deceptive conduct, partnership disputes; taxation disputes, debt enforcement and insolvency matters, deceased estates and employment claims
- Advising high-net wealth individuals on asset protection, wills and estate planning and property matters
- Taxation and duty advice, tax planning and management of taxation risks
- Advice and documentation relating to the ownership, licensing and infringement of copyright, patents, trademarks and other forms of intellectual property;
- Advising directors on their duties, legal risks and risk management issues relating to personal liability, insolvency and bankruptcy
- Advising on multi-party collaborative research agreements and grant funding agreements
Anthony has a Master of Law degree from the University of Sydney and has taught commercial law and taxation law at the University of New South Wales.
